Six students from Bath Spa University's Bath Business School attended the Innovate Finance Global Summit London (IFGS) conference.

The annual event is the most prestigious conference for the financial technology sector - a platform that convenes the world's global institutions together with start-ups, policy makers, and investors to share ideas and solutions to the challenges facing financial services.

The students were able to attend talks and network with financial professionals which gave them an insight into the industry and new ideas for projects.

The organiser of the event and the Bath Business School jointly funded the visit.

This was just one of the opportunities for Business students made possible by Head of Bath Business School Professor Georgina Andrews' wide industry connections and organised by Senior Lecturer Dr Wanru Yao.

Emily Hunnings studying Business and Management BA (Hons) said: "To have gained such an invaluable insight into the industry whilst I am just beginning my studies has motivated me further to do the best that I can at university and I hope to one day be a part of the influential changes within the world of business".

MA students, Yayue Zhong and Susannah Legge, said: "It was a fantastic experience that will be conducive to our further study" and "I gained new ideas for my dissertation. I had an amazing time and feel so lucky that I was chosen for the fully funded place in the event. Thank you Bath Spa University."

Student Tyler Barthez who attended the conference said: "My knowledge was opened up and I was introduced to an entire sector of business where financial technologies are constantly developing in order to deliver better and quicker services."
