Charitable organisations celebrate the Spirit of Giving
Tuesday, 18 December, 2018Charitable organisations in the city of Bath have come together this festive period to celebrate the Spirit of Giving.
Bath Abbey’s Footprint Appeal, Bath Percent Club, Bath Spa University, The Holburne Museum, Roman Baths and Council’s Archway Project, RUH Forever Friends, and the University of Bath combined to say thank you to their donors and celebrate the impact of philanthropy on the city.
Over 140 guests enjoyed an evening at the Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, which included a welcome from Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, Annie Maw, performances from the Bath Spa University Chamber Choir and MA Acting students, and a piano recital by Leo Shi, a scholarship student at the University of Bath.
The evening also premiered the Spirit of Giving video, which has been produced by Bath Spa Studios to highlight some of the beneficiaries of donations to the organisations.
Kate Love, Director of External Relations and Development at Bath Spa, said: “The Spirit of Giving event was a fantastic opportunity for us to come together and thank the generous patrons who support us all throughout the year. The city of Bath is lucky to have some very philanthropic individuals and businesses, who help to support a wide range of causes, and we wanted to not only thank them, but also allow them to see how their donations help.”
