Bath Spa Fashion Design students showcased on the digital catwalk

Thursday, 25 June, 2020

A selection of final year BA Fashion Design students’ work is being showcased on the Digital London Fashion Week website as part of the ‘Class of 2020’. In a colourful and stylish video, students Valentine Ryf and Catherine Archer discuss their creative processes while sharing their designs. Work by graduates Kat Priest, Teodora Turco, Emily Ganderton, Laban Leake, and Amy Baldwin is also featured.

Bath Spa is one of only 14 Fashion Design courses across the UK selected to be featured on the site.

Louise Pickles, Course Leader and Coordinator of Fashion, said: “We’re extremely proud to be featured on the first ever Digital London Fashion Week. This has been a challenging and somewhat disappointing year for final year Fashion Design students, who haven’t been able to develop physical 3D collections. But it has been truly inspirational to see how our students' work has developed under lockdown.”

Louise added that the fashion industry has been very supportive of the class of 2020 - who have been unable to complete collections or partake in runway shows - by providing online opportunities to promote graduate portfolios to the fashion industry.

The Fashion Design class of 2020 also has work featured on SHOWStudio, creative network The Dots + Graduate Fashion Foundation, as well as the British Fashion Council website. On 8 July they will present their work at the British Fashion Council Graduate Preview Day to industry professionals.

“We wish all our graduates the very best for their future careers despite these unprecedented times,” Louise said.
