profile photoKai Phillip is co-founder of Fix8 Rollerdisco. Fix8 was started by a group of passionate skaters and has turned into a hub for the growing underground roller skating community in London and beyond. Providing a safe and fun environment for people of all ages, races and backgrounds to share their passion and develop friendships and keep fit. Roller skating is a great form of exercise and social activity but to those who skate it’s much more than that. When we put our skates on and the music is playing, we really feel free to express ourselves through our movement. It’s so therapeutic.

Kai speaks to Jermaine about how Fix8 has - quite literally - saved the life of young people from across the UK by preventing them from joining gangs and illegal activities. They discuss what it means to be Black in the UK, Black History Month, Black Lives Matter, and what needs to be done to ensure equality across the UK.
