The Studio wins the 2022 SPARKies Community Award

The SPARKies 2022 awards recently brought together the best of the South West region’s tech and digital community to Bristol and celebrated the best start-ups, designs, and individuals to discover who has been crowned this year’s award winners.

We are proud to announce that The Studio won the Community Award at TechSPARK's SPARKies awards. The Studio faced very stiff competition from across the region and the University is pleased to share this wonderful news.

TechSPARK’s judges commented:

“We were particularly impressed with the community focus and the Studio Recovery Fund that was set up to support B&NES-based freelancers, micro-businesses and third-sector organisations to progress their creative technology project ideas. The fund’s key areas of focus are inclusion, environmental sustainability, and innovation”.

The Community Award, which is sponsored by AND Digital, recognises the companies, institutions or individuals that go the extra mile to collaborate and bring the community together.

Abigail Branagan, Enterprise and Innovation Hub Manager, shared about the win:

"The Studio is delighted to have won this year's SPARKies Community Award, which recognises the work of our amazing community of creative technology micro businesses and practitioners. Having the space recognized in this way is a real testament to the energy and enthusiasm of all our Residents and supporters".

The Studio is Bath Spa University’s award-winning city centre home for enterprise and innovation. The Studio provides a space for local micro-businesses, Bath Spa University students, academics, and graduates to work on projects and ideas which focus on creativity and technology. It is also a venue to share learning through regular workshops, events and activities which are open to the wider community.
