Commons? You can't miss it on our Newton Park campus. As our main teaching building, it features superb classroom facilities, social spaces, and specialist digital resources.
Commons is the heart of our Newton Park campus. Alive with students and staff, it boasts immersive views of Newton Park's beautiful countryside.
When you explore Commons you’ll find lecture halls, seminar rooms, study spaces, a cafe, TV studios, and computer rooms and staff offices.
If you’re ever lost, need information, or advice, then the friendly staff at our Student Information Desk are your first point of call. The desk is situated on the ground floor in the Atrium.
Also inside Commons
As you enter Commons’ Atrium, you can’t miss our MediaWall. Made up of 30 screens it’s an impressive feature, spanning two-storeys high and reaching up over 7 meters. The wall displays digital artwork and projects; it gives students and staff the chance to work creatively across a range of media, create cross disciplinary collaborations, and connect with our global partners.
If you’re looking for somewhere to study, Learning Commons is the place. It covers over 1,000 square metres and is open 24/7. It has 400 study seats, plenty of social learning space and bookable group working rooms and pods – as well as a café to relax in.
Commons Student Helpers provide IT and Library support from between 9am and 7pm weekdays, and between 9am and 5pm at weekends.
The Publishing Lab
The Publishing Lab is located in the ground floor of Commons. It comprises rooms full of Macs with the latest desktop publishing software. The Publishing Lab contains a variety of devices and media for the production of published materials in print and on the web.
The Publishing Labs are used as teaching rooms, open 10-5pm each day and staffed by Technical Demonstrators to help you with your latest projects.
