Locksbrook Campus

Our brand new state-of-the-art campus is truly stunning.

Located next to the River Avon in Bath city centre, the open-plan building has technical workshops surrounded by open, flexible studio spaces, as well as large, open social areas. An amazingly inspirational place for you to flourish.

Locksbrook Campus is in a central location in the city, and is virtually next door to Bath Spa student accommodation on the Lower Bristol Road, reached via a pedestrian bridge across the River. The riverside cycle path connecting our Newton Park campus to Bath’s railway and bus stations also borders the site, making it easily accessible from further afield.

“Here at Bath Spa University, we talk a lot about ‘thinking through making’, so right from the outset, we placed students and their creative practice central to the design of the new campus”

How to get to Locksbrook Campus

Car

There are 68 car parking spaces and a permit will be needed to use them. We encourage staff and students to use public transport wherever possible and not to park on the streets surrounding the building.

Driving from Bath

Locksbrook Campus is located on the West side of Bath. The postcode is BA1 3EL. From Bath city centre follow the A4 Upper Bristol Road out of Bath towards Bristol. Follow the road until it turns into Newbridge Road. Turn left down Station Road until you come to Locksbrook Road and Locksbrook Campus will be directly in front of you.

Bus

If you plan on taking the U5 or U6 bus service managed by First Bus, here is the latest 2019/20 schedule. This bus is great for connecting you to the city centre and the Lower Bristol Road where many of our student accommodation is and also our new Locksbrook Campus.

As well as the U5/U6, we also have a free University run inter-site shuttle bus service connecting our campuses. The new schedule for 2019/20 is here. You can reach Newton Park, Sion Hill, Culverhay and Locksbrook using this bus service.

Train

If you're visiting Locksbrook campus by train we recommend you travel to Bath Spa railway station. The train station is just a short walk to the bus station where you can continue your journey.
