Taste of teaching

Come and join us for a day of discovery – find out how to change your career by becoming a teacher at our Taste of Teaching event:

We have a day jam-packed with immersive, interactive taster sessions for all the family, including:

  • Demonstrations, family-friendly workshops, and activities to give you a taster of the rewards teaching can bring
  • Expert academic tutors, students, and our support services on-hand to answer all of your questions about teacher training and the practical considerations of changing career
  • Free parking on campus
  • Guided tours of our beautiful lakeside setting and state-of-the-art teaching facilities.

Teacher taster courses

A teacher taster course gives you an opportunity to find out whether teaching is the right career for you. You'll learn about becoming a teacher, spend a day in a school and benefit from practical advice and guidance on your next steps.

We'll be running a taster course for men interested in becoming a primary teacher. Dates will be released soon, in the meantime you can register your interest.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring other people with me?

Friends and family are welcome to come with you, however, we request that you bring no more than two extra people with you unless they are also interested in becoming a teacher.

Will I be able to meet with academic staff?

There will be various members of education staff at these events who will be available to answer your questions.
