Part of the School of Education Research Seminar Series 2021-22.
About the seminar
This presentation will consist of two parts. Tanvir and Stuart will first share some initial findings to their ongoing research exploring contemporary research issues in Disability Studies and Education.
Then they'll informally introduce their Wellcome Disability Research Collective programme (2021-2026). Tanvir and Stuart will share their initial thoughts and hopes for what the Disability Research Collective could be in terms of being a truly innovative research activist movement, and how colleagues in attendance can support the network going forward.
About the speakers
Dr Tanvir Bush and Dr Stuart Read are disability activists and Research Fellows within the School for Education. They're co-chairs of Bath Spa University’s Disabled Staff Network and Disability Action Group. With Dr Ben Simmons and Prof Martin Levinson, Tanvir and Stuart have recently started a five-year Wellcome-funded ‘Disability Research Collective’ programme (2021-2026), which focuses on creating a network to build a new inclusive disability research agenda.
