Art inspires art

Postgraduate students from Bath Spa University will be filling the Holburne Museum in Bath with some innovative, and sometimes unexpected, art this Friday evening (12 May).

As part of the Party in the City event to launch this year’s Bath Festival, students from the MA Fine Art and MA Dance courses at Bath Spa will be staging Play the Museum, a playful cross-disciplinary collaboration inspired by the collection, the space and the history of the museum itself.

A collection of  new artworks, including sculpture, installation, ceramics and video, will be on display, and there will be dance performances taking place in different locations around the museum throughout the evening.

Bath Festivals and the Holburne Museum are both part of Bath Spa’s cultural partnerships programme, which aims to support creative practice within the community, as well as offering students valuable opportunities to work and perform within the community.

Play the Museum takes place from 5pm-9pm on Friday 12 May at the Holburne Museum. Entry is free. Please pick up a programme and map of the artworks on your arrival.
