Mark Quinn – Bath Spa University

Personal statement 

Mark Quinn is the academic lead for the Secondary RE PGCE. He began working in both secondary and primary schools as a chaplain in 1989 before working as a Youth Retreat Leader. He began his teaching career in 1992. He has been both an RE Head of Department and the Chaplaincy Coordinator in two different Bristol secondary schools. He has also spent time working and supporting in a college for post-16 autistic students. He has been a lecturer on the RE PGCE since 2016. Mark is passionate about making RE lessons both engaging and challenging for pupils, encouraging Bath Spa RE Teachers to be the same.  Mark believes all pupils deserve the best teachers and most up to date teaching ideas whilst encouraging teachers to discover their own strengths and to use them in their own teaching. Mark is a member of the Bath and North East Somerset SACRE.
