About the seminar

In this seminar Nick Sorensen, Emeritus Professor of Education, talks about the process of turning a PhD thesis into a publication taking his recently published book 'The Improvising Teacher: Reconceptualising Pedagogy, Expertise and Professionalism' as a case study. He will outline the issues he encountered in writing the proposal, restructuring the thesis, working with his editor and promoting the book. 

This seminar will be of particular interest to staff who are looking to publish their first work and there will be opportunities for participants to share their experiences and ask questions.

About the speaker

Nick Sorensen is Emeritus Professor of Education, Bath Spa University. He's extensively involved in developing creativity in education with a particular interest in music.
