James TerKeurst

Personal statement

James is a Senior Lecturer of the BSc (Hons) Games Development course and joined Bath Spa University in September 2021. He has lectured on games courses for over 20 years and specialises in design and development.

Prior to joining Bath Spa, James worked as in academic in the UK, US, and Japan. He has won grants for game development solutions, lead games best practice missions to France, Japan, Korea and the United States, and managed substantial EU digital projects. Most recently James has done research on pedagogy for games in Higher Education and edited a special edition of the Computer Games Journal on games pedagogy in 2020.

Academic qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mass Communications - University of Iowa.
